The Five Year Forward View underlines how technology is key to addressing the main challenge facing the NHS: how to continue to improve quality and outcomes whilst facing significant increase in demand. There is a £22billion challenge which roughly translates as caring for six patients for the cost of five.
Building on the huge success of last year’s event, in January we will focus on three key themes which support the Five Year Forward View and where we think there is potential for real impact:
• Digital innovation
• Medicines optimisation
• Out of hospital services for older people.
The event features leading speakers from health, social care and the life sciences; a series of interactive “innovation huddles” to share and spread best practice; an Expo of new technology, devices and other innovations chosen as leaders in their field; a showcase of the best improvement work from across the region and a unique networking opportunity with colleagues from health, social care, industry and research.
It culminates in the 2016 Awards for best practice and innovation in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, featuring the individuals, teams and organisations leading the way in improving patient care and experience.
