The San Francisco Bay Area, including the cities of San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, and Berkeley, as well as Silicon Valley, and three large research universities –UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, Stanford– remains by many metrics far and away the startup capital of the world.

 In this talk, Dr. Alberto Todeschini, lecturer at Berkeley Engineering, discusses nature of the Bay Area innovation ecosystem, including practical advice on how to establish a presence in the region (if doing so makes sense at all), various types of funding available, and various institutions that can help entrepreneurs make the most of their visits to the area.
